The Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of vineyards throughout California, some with 50-year-old vines. Nearly half of the fruit hails from Mendocino County with a portion blended from Paso Robles and other celebrated Cabernet regions. Cooler temperatures and an elongated growing season resulted in high quality fruit for an exceptional vintage.
The Chardonnay gives initial impression of rich, buttery cream which quickly turns to aromas of honey and lightly toasted almonds, followed by tropical aromas of pineapple, citrusy lemon and crème brulee. The wine is refreshing on the palate, with a minerality that is both bright and clean, drawing you into a vibrant tartness and lemon zest that is absolutely, positively Bonterra Chardonnay, vintage after vintage.
The Bonterra winery is certified Zero Waste and CarbonNeutral®, the energy is 100% green and they source recycled materials for packaging and shipping wines.
Bonterra been farming organically since 1987 (way before it was cool). Along the way, they found that organic farming builds better quality in grapes and wine—and that the planet benefits, too. Bonterra, we farm without harmful synthetic pesticides, encourage biodiversity and build healthy soil. The taste of saving the planet starts in the vineyard. Cover crops improve soil health and increase biodiversity. Who can argue with more butterflies and flowers? Adorable sheep snack on these cover crops – more biodiversity, healthier soil. Soil is actually super important to slowing climate change.
